DOLPHIN NETBALL CLUB
History
Dolphin Netball Club was founded in 1980’s. The team was set up as a second team to the current Dolphin Communications Netball Team, run by Yvonne Blunt. We had various calls from ladies wanting to play netball and Yvonne gave me the inspiration to run my own team based on how successfully she was running the Dolphin Communications Team.
Dolphin’ Netball Club first played in the Wellingborough Netball League. The first team strip that we wore was light grey pleated skirts with a single mint green scallop and matching grey bibs.
Dolphin Netball Club have gone from strength to strength and introduced a second team into the Wellingborough Netball League – Dolphin Purples and Dolphin Golds. We changed our uniform from Grey to Purple – yes still the pleated skirts this time with w white scallop with purples playing in Purples shirts and Golds in yellow shirts.
At one stage, the Club had 3 teams in Wellingborough League, 2 teams in Northampton League, 1 team in Rushden League, 2 teams in the Sunday Morning Netball League and 1 team in the East Midlands Regional League.
For 2008/2009 Season, we have restructured the teams to 2 teams in Wellingborough League, 1 team in Northampton League, 2 teams in Rushden League, 1 team in the Sunday Morning Netball League
In December 2008, Dolphin Netball Club secured sponsorship form Stovart Ltd of Rushden. Our new blue uniform will be rolled out to all players for September 2009 season.
